[RP] for Jenny
This dinner date could well prove to be the most interesting Danny had had in a while. Jenny was certainly a very forthright young woman, and she had caused more than a few headaches with the shuttle pilots and docking station crews because of her unofficial shuttle rides from Boukun. But she was fun, intelligent, and yes, cute. Danny thought probably disarmingly so. That's why he couldn't resist asking her for a date instead of arresting her. Maybe they could work something out. It would be a shame to see her in jai.

The restaurant was in the main resort on the tropical region of Tabar, Tali-xon. While much of the nightlife there was loud and pumping, this one restaurant was quiet and peaceful. Some might call it intimate, but it was also relaxed and casual. It overlooked a deep lagoon, which at night often reflected the glow of Boukun in its pink waters. Sea mammals, not unlike Earth's dolphins, could also sometimes be spotted swimming.

Danny was at the bar, dressed in simple khaki pants with a light short-sleeved shirt, with one of his bodyguards waiting for Jenny to arrive.

She had to go shopping, first of all. Jenny had been living in the camo pants and t-shirts for so long, she didn't know any other way to dress. Fortunately, there was a flock of sweet, older salesladies in a shop on Tabar, who took her under their wing. They fussed and coaxed and primped her, so that she didn't recognize herself in the long mirror at the shop. They put makeup on her, but only a little, and they did her hair in a soft style that was half up, half down. Jenny chose a yellow sundress with pretty little flowers on it, though it was awful bare on the top, with it's halter neck.

Clutching a new white sweater and a small clutch purse that wasn't nearly big enough for her gun, she walked into the restaurant, slowly, as she still wasn't used to heels. She asked the man at the desk for Daniel, and he pointed over to the bar. Oh, no...he was awful cute. Even cuter than his pictures. Jenny smiled at him, and gave a little wave.

Danny saw her straight away. How could he not, she was quite stunning, even if she looked quite different from the pictures he'd been given of her in the investigation of her activities. Telling his bodyguard to make himself scarce, the man faded into the background, although still keeping a very careful watch on his charge and his date.

"Hi!" he said, standing as she waved. "You clean up pretty nicely. They've got a table waiting for us outside, just overlooking the lagoon." He offered her his arm and led her onto the balcony where the water gently lapped beneath them, shining brightly from Boukun's shine.

Jenny flushed with pleasure at his compliment, though it was not flowery at all. Even with taking his arm, she had to walk looking down at her feet, because heels were treacherous and she didn't want to disgrace herself by falling. Daniel was quite tall, and she wasn't, so she hoped he didn't see her care in how she walked.

At the table, she grinned in delight at the natural beauty of the location. It was gorgeous, just breathtaking, and she stared out over the water taking it all in. In the short time she had been alive, she had not grown jaded at all to beauty and wonder, and she wasn't guarded enough to hide it. Jenny realized that she had been looking out on the water for a long time, and she turned to look at her host, smiling. "Sorry, it's just so beautiful here. You must be so proud of it."

Taking a sip of water, her hand steady, she smiled, a bit naughty. "This is much nicer than jail, thank you."

Danny never seemed as intense as his father, nor did he ever try to seem as overbearing. His hazel eyes were softer and more friendly, while he always smiled easily and genuinely. In all, he would say, he wasn't as uptight as Hsu. But he was just as observant in his own way. He could see, as she took his arm, that she was a little wobbly in those shoes, and he subtly supported her to make her walk easier. Once they were seated at the table, he just made a suggestion. "You can kick those shoes off if you want, no one will see."

The wine waiter came by, and Danny ordered a prime vintage Tabaran champagne for them. "Proud, yeah I guess I am, but it's like running your own paradise. Too much fun to think it could be anything like work. I still haven't made up my mind on the jail bit." It was clear that he was just teasing her, though. "But thanks also. That one pilot is on his way back to Boukun to explain himself." He looked at her thoughtfully as he took a drink from his water as well. "So, how did a pretty thing like you get to be causing so much trouble here in the first place?"

Jenny was far too young and inexperienced to not let her expression show the delight of his suggestion. With an impish grin and nod, she did as Daniel suggested, tucking her feet up under the cloth. His joke about jail made her blink, then laugh a little. After all, it wasn't like she hadn't broken out of one before.

"Your very own paradise? Now that sounds like the best job in the universe. Glad there's at least one place I don't need to save." Jenny looked back at him, straight in the eyes, because that's how she was. It wasn't like her to be dishonest, and she didn't do anything that she didn't believe in or think was underhanded. "I was traveling the galaxy, and I needed money for fuel and supplies. So I shuttled a family who couldn't afford the extra fees some pilots were charging, and word got around that I was good and didn't cheat people."

She shrugged, and looked back at the water, for a moment, before looking back at her date. "You don't have to freak out. I won't be here all that long. Like my father, I have worlds that need saving."

OOC: *facepalm* If one notif didn't come in, then the smart thing to do would be correct the email addy so future ones will. *kicks self* I know you're busy, so don't feel you have to continue this. I just kicked myself for not fixing the email so I could get notifs. *headdesk* I'm sorry.
